Library Media Center Hours:
Monday - Friday
7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
The mission of the St. Martin’s School Library Media Center is to foster a love of reading and learning.
As reading is the foundation of literacy and the springboard for intellectual and educational development, our goal is to provide a nurturing place within the school that inspires learning, models thinking, and supports teaching.
Beginning with the basics, class visits to the library media center include media lessons that build upon skills ranging from how to use the parts of a book, to using the Dewey Decimal Classification System, reference materials, technology , research tools, and information seeking strategies.
Early Childhood and Elementary School students visit the Library Media Center weekly at regularly scheduled times. In addition, students in these grades pop in to use the library resources throughout the day with teacher permission.
Middle School students visit as a class, individually, or in small groups throughout the school day, for reading, homework, group studying/projects, research, book check out, or computer use.
All students are welcome to use the library media center before school, during Middle School lunch/study hall, and during after school study hall. Students coming to the library media center after school are required to bring a note from home.
